The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.
Brainspotting is a powerful new psychotherapy that involves engaging your visual field to locate eye positions that correlate with inner neural and emotional experience. Combined with bilateral sound using earphones, deep processes in the mid and lower brain can be accessed and all parts of ourselves can be known and integrated.
Brainspotting is considered a brain/body, mindfulness based relational therapy. It is different from other therapies in that it harnesses the power of our "sub cortical" brain, places in our brain that are below words but often drive our unwanted habits, negative thoughts, flashbacks, and chronic emotional pain.
How many of us say things like "I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I still do." The "I know I shouldn't feel this way" part of us is the part that is usually dealt with in talk therapy. There is truly only so far you can go with that, because the "I still do" part of you is much stronger and not usually accessible to us. With Brainsportting, it is not only accessible, but can be updated for your highest good.
With the new abnormal that we are confronting, many of us are in trauma shock without even realizing it. Everything has changed overnight. It is a lot to take in, and often past traumas are triggered. Brainspotting can help...and once the work is done, it is permanent.
It is a remarkable process!
I am formally certified in Brainspotting, and have been trained and supervised by Christine Ranck, and taken advanced trainings with the founder of Brainspotting, David Grand. You are in good hands...
Just one Brainspotting session with Joanna got me back in touch with the fearless and creative free spirit of my younger self--a part of my personality that got tucked away in the demands and heartbreaks of adultfood and parenting. I have new energy and enthusiasm for professional goals and am safe and free to express my full personality in my family and intimate relationship.
